Overgiving, undernourished
It’s November, the time when people start playing Christmas melodies and look forward to their annual holiday trips.
But, what if you’re still stuck in the mud feeling burnt out, anxious, constantly on edge and doubtful of your life choices + decisions?
If you’re constantly worried about the:
Opinions of others
Expectations others have of you
Mistakes made in the past
Unpredictable future
Chaos that is happening globally
You are not alone and there is a solution to feeling more grounded and less triggered.
Instead of constantly staying plugged in to the news, jumping at every notification on your phone, consider: pausing.
What would your day look like if you:
Take just five minutes to really taste the cup of tea in front of you?
Close your eyes, and take in three deep breaths before touching your phone upon waking?
Smile at a stranger on the subway?
Write down a word of intention and stick by it throughout the day (something like: compassion, kindness, presence…)?
Too often we are used to being drawn to people and situations that unsettles us – the ones who know what makes you upset but still do it anyway (perhaps by guilt tripping you but that’s another blog for another day).
Rather than feeding into that energy, could you spend more time within? Would you choose differently?
Take just a small action to nourish your mind/ body/ spirit today.
Trust me, it’ll be worth it.
