Positive Self-talk

self image, positive self talk, praise, kindness

We all carry around with us a lens through which we see the world. These perceptions and views may belong to us or may also be unintentionally introduced to us when we’re young.

One rule of the mind is that your brain’s main job is to give you what you want. You co-create your experience by your choice of thoughts and actions which affects your outcome. The foundation to a better life starts with having healthier mental conversations with yourself.

We humans are exceptional beings at invention. For all inventions and great creations begins with a thought.

We speak to ourselves far more often than we’d think on a daily basis. Yet the words we tell ourselves of our ability, appearance, performance and intellect are often nasty comments we would never project onto others.

Changing your self-talk:

  • Begins with the intention to be kinder to yourself

  • With the use of better words, phrases and images of the present and the future for yourself

  • While remaining consistent at encouraging yourself in ALL circumstances to succeed in being the best cheerleader for yourself

Like a delicate child, we thrive on compliments and praises and we wither with judgment and criticisms.

Reduce any inclination towards self-criticism and increase the amount of praise and recognition you give to yourself. Accept compliments from others and recognize your talents.

Here are some phrases to use today to start a better conversation with yourself and to encourage yourself on the challenging days:
