7 habits to win the year!

celebrate new year

1. Do what’s necessary to get to where you want (even if you it’s the last thing you want to do)

Doing what you do not want even when it’s difficult to get the results you want actually builds self-respect and boosts your self-esteem, it increases your level of confidence and it builds trust within yourself. Individuals who do what they do not want to do have a much higher chance of success because they overcome their limiting beliefs and build momentum.

2. Keep going despite rejections

Know that rejections are bound to happen and they are not personal. See rejection as a delay or a redirection to where you’re supposed to go, sometimes we don’t understand every life situation until we look back and connect the dots to find that all detours make sense.

3. One step before another

Take action everyday and show up for yourself consistently. It matters that you take even the slightest step towards your desired outcome. Progress no matter big or small propels us forward. Eliminate the need to be a “perfectionist”. When we seek to be perfect we end up in misery, we stop being kind to ourselves and rob ourselves the opportunity for growth.

4. Allow room for mistakes

As Albert Einstein says “a person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.” Failure is not final unless you give up. Most successful people learn through mistakes, mistakes help us navigate and understand a situation better. In the process you grow and learn to make better decisions.

5. Praise yourself

Self praise is the best habit to adopt. When we seek external validation - needing the approval, compliment or praise from others we don’t feel quite good enough about ourselves. Being your greatest cheerleader will send you forward in life much farther than you think it does.

6. Adopt a growth mindset

Rather than assuming you know it all already, have the hunger and desire to learn. When we learn, we build our character and grow – in understanding of others, in knowledge and in skillsets. Having a growth mindset allows us to see things from a greater perspective and prevent us from being narrow minded.

7. Choose to be proactive than reactive

Instead of reacting to every situation that happens, ask yourself: how can I take charge and create a positive change here? Majority of people react to things that happen in their lives thinking they are not in control. But we have control over the way we think, act and feel. When you choose to be proactive in life, you can be the role model for others and result in positive changes to the world.
