Underlying Reasons for Chronic Pain

The mind is a powerful tool and it wants the best for you

Our brain makes sure to keep us safe by reminding us not to repeat the same mistakes and to do things differently.

Your unconscious mind drops hints time and again to remind you of the pain you’ve gotten at the very first incident of a traumatic event in effort to prevent you from committing the same act which will result in pain. Yet, it is easy for us to blame our bodies for the pain it is causing us and forget that we are the ones who are not receiving it’s signals properly.

Did you know we fire off about 50 000 thoughts in a day and this results in approximately 50 000 actions taken by the cells in our body per second? 

Cells in our body contain DNA, and there are 2 general types of DNA namely coding and non-coding DNA.

Making up a large 95-97% of our DNA is the non-coding DNA. These DNA are important as they control the expressions of our genes, this means we can change the way certain genes are activated or deactivated through our lifestyle.

DNA + Lifestyle = Experience in Life

What can we do about this?

1.       Change the way your genes are expressed: Treat your cells like your best friend, treat them how you want to be treated and show your body respect. Love is the greatest positive experience of all, show your cells love this helps them express genes that are beneficial to you.

2.       Steer clear from treating your body disrespectfully, via behaviors such as smoking, eating processed food. This prevents the body from functioning at its best, the way it’s meant to be.

3.       Let the body speak for itself, every pain, emotional or physical, has its purpose. Ask: What are you here to remind me/ protect me/ teach me?

Just like the conscious-unconscious iceberg model by Sigmund Freud, 95% of our daily behavior and majority of health functioning is controlled by the unconscious mind. This means that while we may not know the reasons for our issue logically, our mind and body has all the answers.
