Habits of Highly Successful People

habits of highly successful people

Ever wonder how certain people have it all figured out, achieved tremendous success, have a wonderful family and perhaps isn’t afraid to do public speaking in front of thousands of people?

Do you wonder if these people who build teams after teams, launch products after products have some kind of super power?

What sets them apart as highly successful people are the habits they’ve nurtured to achieve success, not at the expense of their mental health.

Here are 8 habits of highly successful people:

1. They do what they do not want to do

Highly successful people do what they do not want to do to get to where they want to be. Do you have a particular project or goal in mind but there’s just so much resistance to starting it? Successful people know there will be things they do not want to do but stay committed to the end results they have in mind.

2. They do what they do not want to do FIRST

Getting the difficult tasks done first boost your self-esteem, and self-confidence, it builds trust within yourself that you are committed to what you want. The result is these people who do what they do not want to do first would have a much higher chance of succeeding because they overcome their limiting beliefs and build momentum. Over the long run, difficult things just stop becoming difficult because they’ve built their character around doing what they dislike first and so they gain respect for themselves. This propels them to move forward faster and increase their stamina and hunger for more.

3. They bounce back from rejection

Successful people know that rejections are not personal. They see rejection as a delay to their end goal and not a denial to their dreams and desires. For every successful singer, artists, author you know of are tones of rejections they have faced in their early years. When you see rejection as a form of redirection you get yourself up once more and keep going. People who give up easily don’t get far.

4. They take action everyday

Successful people take action everyday in the direction of their goal. Their commitment and consistent effort keep the momentum going. Being committed to your dream is like going to the gym, you see the results when you put in the effort daily. You get much better results hitting the gym everyday for 10 mins than having a 50 mins session every once a month.

5. Build a praise muscle

Being critical to themselves are not how successful people do life. successful people know that in order to keep the progress going, they need motivation and they need support. While it is natural to seek the validation and approval from the people outside of ourselves, when we learn to praise ourselves, we blossom so much more. Self-praise simply holds no agenda, being your greatest cheerleader will propel you forward so much more than external validation does.

6. Delay gratification

Highly successful people knows that they can get the reward they want anytime. What’s more fulfilling to them is to reach their goal. They do not procrastinate and they do not fall into the traps of getting immediate gratification.

7. Watch TV less, read so much more

Leaders are often readers. In each and every book holds the wisdom of an author. People watch TV for entertainment and that doesn’t encourage growth and shift of perspective. Highly successful people know that to grow their mind and perspective they tap onto the knowledge and wisdom of those who came ahead of them and whom share their skills and knowledge, this shortens the learning curve and increases a person’s speed to success.

8. Accountability partner

Having an accountability partner has been proven to be highly effective in encouraging an individual to follow through their intentions with actions. An accountability partner helps you achieve your goals by constantly reminding you to stay on track and keeps you focused on doing what truly matters rather than getting distracted by other events of life.

You might say that these are not natural habits. Yet, just like lifting weights or putting contact lenses into your eye is not natural, you can make habits of successful people your natural habit.

First, it’s what you do then it becomes who you are.
