You shouldn’t struggle to accept help
Ask and you shall receive. We often do not ask for support and take it all on ourselves to solve a problem, to face a challenge and come to frustration if they do not resolve as we thought they should. Today’s blog post is about being unapologetic with asking for support.
In this day and age we live in, there is constant praise and spotlight on individuals who made stellar achievements by themselves. With the constant bombardment that only individuals who achieve results on their own are to be held in high regard, we often find it difficult and undeserving to ask for help and support.
It is important to ask for support because dealing with issues with just one mind simply is limiting. I often remind myself to seek help because I know the individuals and role models who I look up to, are always gathering support. It is also these individuals who embrace receiving help from their friends, supporters and followers are always happy to help others in return.
Take this quote with you: together we can achieve more.
Simple quote, deep meaning. We cannot expect ourselves to achieve great things without a support team. Experiencing this first hand in many areas of my life, and I'm sure you too face the same struggle, I've come to terms that life is made a lot simpler when we learn to receive help. It also makes so much more sense to ask for help. The simple act of asking for help allows us to tap into unknown wisdom, knowledge and skill sets of others who are happily willing to help us and this accelerates our growth curve and success so much faster than we actually expect.
When I was first starting out as an entrepreneur I took pride in doing things myself for the thinking that such behavior is where all the sense of achievement comes from. I was wrong. It took me months of cracking my head, struggling with coming up ideas of a business name, business structure, web design and a whole lot of other to-dos. It was into months that the realisation hit me: this has to stop, I have to ask for help. I have to be willing to receive help and this concept works the other way round too. The people who I wish to help have to be willing to be helped or there wouldn't be any progress.
And so, I reached out to my close friends asking for their advice on how I should go about with the plans. I also reached out to graduates of the Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) community to practice and hone my skills to receive feedback, improve and deliver the best service I can to future clients.
I want the same for you, to accelerate your growth and receive all the help that is wanting to enter your way.
Let your friends and family help you and give them the pleasure in giving help. Be in the delight of receiving support. It is such a good place to be in. You can simply do this by asking for advice, sharing your experiences and concerns to closed ones who can hold space for you. You can also reach out to mentors who would definitely have the resources and capacity to guide you (e.g. life coaches, book authors, personal development and self-help videos on YouTube).
When you ask for help, you allow for so much support to come your way! Start by accepting and making small requests, for instance: allow your co-worker to fetch you a coffee, accept the massage your partner gives, allow the lunch treat your supervisor offers, accept the kind gesture of a friend to help you with replying to a difficult email.
Accept support, let it in, and grow fulfilled.
