Mercury in Venus x People-pleasing Learnings
Astrological transit: the planet of communication Mercury just entered the beautiful (but sometimes overly accomodating sign) Libra ⚖️ and this could very well be a reminder for us all to pay attention to what we are saying yes and no to.
Instead of people-pleasing (Libra's tendency), can we be more mindful about choosing words that connect us to each other? Instead of catering to others because we are used to and accustomed to being the provider, could we make sure that there is fair/ equal give and take in our significant relationships?
Instead of compromising our needs, can we learn to voice them and seek collaboration and understanding from others?
Oftentimes people are happy to support and nourish you in return. We don't have to shut them off or give endlessly.
A word I find myself using lately is "tone". Whether I'm thinking aloud to myself or telling a close loved one to chill out, I keep coming back to the same statement: I understand what you're trying to convey, but your tone matters.
Perhaps we don't have to fight to have our needs met. Perhaps we don't have to fight for others to know they are taking more from us.
Maybe as Mercury moves through Libra, we are called to learn to speak up for ourselves in ways that others reciprocate kindness.
People-pleasing can be a stage, it can be a lesson, it need not be a permanent state of being.
